Positive kick-off to the CCUS Cost Challenge Taskforce

Yesterday Jon Gibbins, UKCCSRC Director, and Centre Deputy Directors, Stuart Haszeldine and David Reiner attended the first BEIS CCUS Cost Challenge Taskforce meeting, chaired by Claire Perry, Minister of State for Energy and Clean Growth.

The Taskforce, made up of leading CCUS stakeholders, was formed to help the Government meet its commitments on CCUS as outlined in The Clean Growth Strategy, released in October 2017.

Jon Gibbins said, “The meeting got off to a good start. There’s a busy programme, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the UKCCSRC can support that work”.

The CCUS Cost Challenge Taskforce will continue to meet regularly, with the aim of releasing a report by Summer 2018.

Stuart Haszeldine and David Reiner are also members of the BEIS CCUS Council.
