12 months Research Associate: Gas-solid reactors applied to reforming technology

We are seeking to recruit a Research Associate (PDRA) to work under the supervision of Dr. Vincenzo Spallina in the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science of the University of Manchester. The aim of this project is to demonstrate the feasibility of the gas-solid process using packed bed reactor for production of syngas with inherent CO2 separation. The project combines material and lab scale prototype testing to achieve the experimental proof-of-concept of the technology under relevant conditions of high pressure and high  temperature.

Candidates should already hold or be nearing completion of a PhD/DPhil in chemical engineering, energy engineering, focused on reactor design and process development with proven experience in reactor testing, material characterisation and with advanced knowledge on gas-solid reactions and catalysis. Previous experiences on chemical looping technology are desirable and particularly welcome.
