Kirsty is the Principal Manager of Public Engagement at the Global CCS Institute. Kirsty joined the Institute in February 2012 and her role involves working with CCS projects and interested stakeholders across the globe to provide guidance and support on effective methods for delivering public engagement activities, and to improve access to communication, education and outreach resources.
Kirsty works closely with social researchers, public engagement and communication specialists and CCS project developers, to capture and disseminate learning and best practice on engaging the public and key stakeholders on CCS. Kirsty is also working closely with CSIRO and other international research organisations and Governments to develop and deploy school education programs which incorporate learning about CCS.
Prior to the Institute, Kirsty was the Communication and Knowledge Share Manager on the ScottishPower Consortium CCS Project, responsible for the creation of the project’s knowledge sharing and engagement strategy, the production and delivery of the ScottishPower Consortium’s Front End Engineering Design knowledge products, and for stakeholder engagement activities including education and outreach.
Kirsty's background is in communication. Before working on CCS, Kirsty held a number of media, communication and project development roles in both elite sport and public health demonstration projects.
