I have for the last 5 years worked with National Grid Carbon Ltd. on the Environmental Impact Assessment of CO2 leakage into and onto the soil environment. This research formed part of the National Grid (NG) COOLTRANS Project and was successfully delivered in 2013 (University of Nottingham,UK). I have since worked with NG on an IKE-NG joint project investigating effects of pipeline operating temperatures on the soil environment (University of Sheffield, UK).
I am currently an in post as an Independent Senior Research Fellow and a member of the Energy2050 team at the University of Sheffield, UK.
I am primarily a plant physiologist and have focused on CO2 aspects of climate change and vegetation throughout my academic career.
