I am Managing Director and operations/technical leader at Protea Ltd (www.protea.ltd.uk). I started with Protea in 2004 as an employee and have developed as the leader of technical developments and production. I hold a Masters Degree in Physics and Astrophysics, with core skills in respect of Quantum Mechanics, Particle Physics and Spectroscopy. My research and development skills are complemented by experience running complex R&D programmes. I have developed Protea’s core analyser products over the last 10 years in both hardware and software. I have designed and taken into production Protea’s latest FTIR platform and developed its application into a wide range of gas analysis applications.
This includes gas matrices seen in CCS applications (http://www.protea.ltd.uk/applications/co2_capture_anime_absorption.php) where our online continuous gas analyser can provide measurements of emissions of N-Nitrosamines (NDMA, NDEA, NMOR), Amines (MEA, DEA, EDA), Amides (Formamide, Acetamide), Alkylamines (MA, EA) and Aldeydes (Formaldehyde, Acetaldehyde) as well as standard flue gas compositions. This includes both high and low levels of CO2. With an experience in Protea’s business that started with on-site, customer-facing projects I have been able to drive the product development in such a way that addresses issues that end users face on a day-to-day basis. My role at the moment gives a link between industry and the technology that is incorporated into Protea’s products.
