Dr Forse obtained his PhD in Chemistry on electrochemical energy storage at the University of Cambridge (2012-2015). He then studied the chemistry of CO2 capture in metal-organic framework adsorbents as a Philomathia Research Fellow at U.C. Berkeley (2016-2019), with a focus on determining CO2 adsorption and diffusion mechanisms with NMR spectroscopy techniques. From Summer 2019 he will be a Lecturer in Materials Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, with a research program that includes (i) the design, synthesis and characterisation of new adsorbents for CO2 capture, (ii) the development of electrochemical swing adsorption methods for more energy-efficient capture process, and (iii) the development of spectroscopic methods to study CO2 adsorption mechanisms and adsorbent degradation.
