Second year into a UK Space Agency funded PhD on the crust-atmosphere coupling and carbon sequestration of early Mars.

Comparing mineral carbon sequestration in martian meteorites with terrestrial analogues (Oman, Iceland, Norway) as well as conducting chambered carbonation experiments with the British Geological Survey and in-house carbonation experiments at the University of Glasgow. By investigating carbon weathering and sequestration on both Earth and Mars, knowledge can be gathered on both the loss of the Martian atmosphere and the ability to tackle terrestrial climate change.

I am also building a prototype ultrasonic polisher for potential use on a future Mars rover as part of the Space Glasgow Ultra Sonic Planetary Drilling team.
