Scope:
The UK Carbon Capture and Storage Research Centre (UKCCSRC) Education Task Force is a group who recommend and advise on a programme of activities to support the education and training of Early Career Researchers (ECRs - post-graduate research students, post-doctoral staff and new lecturers eligible for first grants [i]) in the area of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), with a particular focus on ECRs who are not currently members of Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs) or similar activities.

Goal:
Further ECRs’ understanding and capacity in the area of Carbon Capture and Storage through strategic development of future training programmes.

Objectives:

  • Develop attractive training opportunities for ECRs covering Research and Transferable skills
  • Ensure complementarity between UKCCSRC-led activities and relevant training opportunities provided by CDTs and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses
  • Facilitate networking opportunities and interaction with peers for ECRs during and beyond events
  • Identify and support the development of resources required by ECRs, if/as identified
