Hydra Rodrigues
I grew up in Fortaleza, Brazil and now find myself ‘across the pond’ completing a doctorate in Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. Here I soak in Edinburgh’s landscapes, history and people while working on my research in CO2-EOR and Storage. I’m using modelling and simulation tools to optimize CO2-WAG operations in carbonate reservoirs, aiming to improve profitability, flow assurance (managing inorganic scale) and environmental impact. After I graduate this year, my goal is to use my skills in geo-energy systems to help society tackle the energy transition challenge. My dream is to craft a career that makes a difference, and always pushes my intellectual limits - one that after 20+ years of experience I will be still discovering new things.
