Associate Lecturer Having retired from the UK civil service where he spent 10.5 years in DECC/BEIS working on UK CCUS policy he has now developed his academic work with The Open University. He tutors on several undergraduate courses; both on ICT (Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Networks and Operating Systems) and Energy (Renewable Energy). Whilst working on CCUS Brian was; Co-lead of the CCUS Clean Energy Ministerial Initiative (with the USA, Saudi Arabia and Norway) Co-lead the Mission Innovation CCUS Challenge (with Saudi Arabia) ExCo Member of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) ExCo Member of the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEAGHG) General Assembly Member of the European CCS Laboratories Infrastructure (ECCSEL) National Contact Point for the CCUS Accelerating CCUS Technologies (ACT) grant programme. Brian also led on several pieces of legislation; one being Third Party Access to CO2 Transport and Storage Infrastructure, including guidance (URN 14D/450) Brian is eager to see great things happening in the CCUS world from 2021 onwards!!
