University of St Andrews online events: Launch of the Centre for Energy Ethics and The Art of Energy

25th February 2021 - 26th February 2021

The University of St Andrews is holding two online events on 25th-26th February: ‘Launch of the Centre for Energy Ethics’ and ‘The Art of Energy’.

Centre for Energy Ethics Launch
25 February, 14.00-16.00 GMT

The Centre for Energy Ethics, led by Dr Mette High, addresses one of the most urgent challenges facing humanity today: how to balance our energy demands with our concerns for anthropogenic climate change. Bringing together diverse areas of expertise, including researchers, industry, and communities, the Centre will offer a truly novel interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral environment for the study of energy and will include an Artist-in-Residence scheme.

The Art of Energy
26 February, 14.00-16.00 GMT

In conjunction with the Centre launch, we will be hosting The Art of Energy.  The Art of Energy seeks to reflect on our contemporary energy predicament through collaborations with artists. Attendees will have an opportunity to explore our virtual photography exhibits by three world-renowned photographers, listen to a sound performance by pecq, engage in a Q&A with the filmmakers of the ‘End of an Era?’ film, hear from our guest speakers, and join us in the reveal of the Art Award finalists. The deadline for Art Award submissions is 10 February; click here for details.

Attendance is free. For further event details and to register, please visit: www.energyethics.ac.uk.
