ECR Virtual Awayday – Show Don’t Tell: Visual Communications in CCS
27 June 2023 @ 11:00 - 13:00
Our next ECR Awayday will be taking place virtually on Tuesday 27th June, 11am-1pm, on the topic of “Show Don’t Tell – visual communications in CCS”.
Communicating CCS can be complicated, especially at a level that’ll be understood by the general public. But it’s so important, essential even, as public perception and the social licence to operate are key to the success of CCS.
It’s a true cliché (as most are) that a picture is worth 1,000 words. Not only does visual communication speak a more universal language for the public, but images, infographics and data visualizations are also highly favoured by journalists. If we want to see CCS featured more, and more positively, in the media then making our communication simpler and clearer – through both words and images – may help achieve that.
This session will encourage you to think more about communicating your research visually, give opportunities to consider good and bad design, and provide practical tips and insights for creating great visuals!
