This blog was provided by Mahdi Kapateh whose attendance at the UKCCSRC Cardiff Biannual was supported by the Early Career Researchers Meeting Fund.
We started the day with an early morning meet-up in front of Cardiff University to take a bus to the research centre approximately 40 minutes away from the city centre.
After arrival and the safety check headcount we were gathered in a meeting room and received a quick briefing about the research programs in the GTRC before being split into groups. Each group were given a guided tour of the GTRC, through the various experimental apparatus and procedures used within the centre.
The tour was then concluded and we were driven back to the university for the afternoon session.
