The future for renewable energy in the UK: funding, innovation and policy priorities

Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum Keynote Seminar:
Delegates will assess the Government’s progress towards achieving its domestic and European energy generation decarbonisation targets, and the future shape of subsidy regimes for new projects.
It will be held in the context of changes to the planning system to provide local communities with the final say over onshore wind farm applications, in addition to the recent announcement of the early closure of the Renewables Obligation for new projects in April 2016.
Further discussion will bring out the latest thinking on integrating new sources of renewable power to the electricity network, developing skills and meeting workforce requirements, as well as lessons that can be learnt from the most recent allocation of Contracts for Difference and what this will mean for the future auction of renewable project subsidies.
