Reactive Transport Modelling Summer School

The first-ever Reactive Transport Modeling Summer School will be held at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, on 1-4 August 2016.

The Summer School is designed to help postgraduate students in the geosciences learn the techniques of reactive transport modeling as applied to geoscientific research, and for advanced students to share the results of their work with other students, in a relaxed, collegial, non-threatening environment populated by other students with overlapping interests. No prior experience in reactive transport modeling is needed.

The Summer School will feature:

  • A welcoming reception for all participants.
  • Hands-on instruction in reactive transport modeling from world leaders in the field.
  • A field excursion each day to a point of scientific or cultural interest.
  • Opportunity for participants to present posters or short talk capsules in a non-threatening environment.
  • Many chances for interaction among participants, including a social hour each day.

The field excursions planned:

  • Explore Fife’s coastal geology – guided Field trip lead by Dr Andy Gardiner.
  • Holyrood Park & Arthur’s Seat.
  • The Real Mary Kings Close & free time in Edinburgh.
