Next steps for infrastructure and planning in Scotland

Guest of Honour: John McNairney, Chief Planner, The Scottish Government
This conference will provide a timely opportunity to consider the next steps for infrastructure and planning in Scotland.
Delegates will assess the impact of the recent publication of the National Planning Framework 3 which sets out the Scottish Government’s long term development and investment strategy alongside the supporting Scottish Planning Policy which provides priorities for land development and policy application. Planned sessions focus on investment, including finance models, and what more can be done to increase infrastructure funding, next steps for energy infrastructure development, and priorities for local and town planning.
The Infrastructure Investment Plan – Updated Programme Pipeline will also provide a context for discussion as delegates will assess the progress of the high capital developments highlighted in the document and what more can be done to deliver these projects.
The conference will bring together policymakers from the Scottish Government and Parliament with key stakeholders in planning and infrastructure development, as well as local authorities, environmental and community groups, businesses involved in construction, property and sustainability, academics and other interested parties.
