IFRF 2018 Conference – 30th-31st May 2018

IFRF – the International Flame Research Foundation – will hold its landmark 70th anniversary conference on 30th-31st May 2018. It will take place at the historic Sheffield Town Hall, close to the headquarters of IFRF, in a world-renowned centre for steelmaking and high-temperature industries reliant on combustion and related processes.
The theme – ‘Clean, efficient and safe industrial combustion’ – echoes the objectives of IFRF and has relevance across a wide range of industrial sectors and research areas including NOx research, fired heaters, solid fuels, industrial burners, flares, gaseous fuels, safety of fired equipment, oxy-combustion, power generation, chemicals & petrochemicals, glass manufacturing, thermal process industries, iron & steel making and cement & lime manufacturing and minerals processing. As such, the content of the conference will be of interest to delegates from industry and academia around the world.
This two-day event will offer a combination of Plenary Sessions (with invited keynote speakers, discussions and other activities), Parallel Technical Sessions related to major topics/sectors, a Poster Session and a Sponsors Exhibition throughout the event. A Gala Dinner will be held on the evening of 30th May to celebrate the Platinum Anniversary of IFRF at ‘Magna’ (a themed venue in an old steel mill). A full conference programme and speaker list will be announced in March.
