The application of carbon capture and storage technology to CCGT plant

Tom Snow, Design Development Engineer at SSE will provide an overview of CCGT plant, planning processes for new CCGT plant (‘Capture Ready’) and the integration of a carbon capture plant at Peterhead Power Station.

Tom Snow is a chartered chemical engineer with 12 years industrial experience. He is currently working as a Design Development Engineer for SSE assisting in the development of the Peterhead carbon capture and storage project. His main work interests lie in thermal power plant emissions abatement technologies, solid fuel combustion, plant performance and project development. He has previously worked for Atkins, RWE Npower and Doosan Babcock.

This talk is being co-hosted by the University of Edinburgh’s School of Engineering and Scottish Carbon Capture and Storage (SCCS). Pizza, coffee and tea will be available at 12.45 before the lecture commences at 13.00.
