Energy in Scotland

This conference will provide a timely opportunity to discuss next steps for the energy sector in Scotland.

Delegates will assess prospects for the renewable sector as targets in the Scottish Government’s 2020 Routemap for Renewable Energy approach.

They will also examine the progress being made in both the renewable and non-renewable sectors with sessions focusing on the impact that Contracts for Difference will have on renewable technology development, the latest on innovation and production within oil and gas following recent budget announcements and the priorities for investment across the energy sector.

Further sessions will look at ways in which to develop and retain a skilled workforce in Scotland as well as the implications of a changing energy sector on the environment and consumers.

This seminar will bring together policymakers from the Scottish Government and Parliament with key stakeholders of renewable energy in Scotland including businesses operating in the energy and environment sectors, their suppliers and advisors; local government and interest groups; along with academics and commentators.
