Richard Smith, IAP Vice Chair, gave a presentation based on IAP meeting discussions at Strathclyde at a joint IEAGHG/CCSA/UKCCSRC meeting on ‘Pathways to Commercialisation’ held on 9 November 2015 at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London. The main conclusions of his talk, ‘Technology Convergence for Post Combustion Capture?’, were that future post-combustion capture plants would be standardised rather than modular, but that this approach could still give proven performance, reduced CAPEX & OPEX and better upgradability, and hence reduced risk for investors.
