UKCCSRC’s partner organisation, the UK-China (Guangdong) CCUS Centre, launched a Carbon Capture Ready (CCR) Report for the China Resources Power (Haifeng) Units 3 and 4, 2 x 1000MW Ultra-supercritical Coal-fired Plants, in Guangzhou on 19 March 2015. UKCCSRC Director, Jon Gibbins, spoke to the meeting on ‘International progress on the application of Carbon Capture Ready concepts to avoid CO2 emission lock-in’ via a web link from Oslo, where the UK-Canada-Norway meeting on CO2 capture research was also taking place on 18-20 March 2015. Stuart Haszeldine also gave a remote presentation on ‘UK CCUS Project Experience’ as part of a session on Preliminary Analysis of CO2 Storage in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, South China Sea at the same meeting.
